fastest- my 02 Trans AM WS6 collectors edition. I had it up to 130 on I85 and it was still trying to get up like I was only going 30 or so.. scared me, wont be doing it again.
now have an 82 trans am kitt replica that Ive put twin turbos in, pretty sure it'll go just as well.
Driven a ton of fast cars at track events (for FREE!)......CTS-Vs, Audi R8 V10. I have driven every Audi S/RS model and both R8s (V8/V10). I have owned a 911, pair of M3s, Audi A8.....all nice cars.
I have two buddies with a new Lamborghini Huracan/Ferrari 488 but I haven't driven them yet.
In the 90s, worked in the simulation business providing motion-based simulators for the Army, Navy, and later NASA. In the fighter jet simulators, it felt like your face was going to tear off. On the NASA side, had an opportunity to sit in the co-pilot seat with legendary Astronaut John Young piloting on an acceptance test shakedown....jeez did he try to break the unit
Car wise:
Fastest top speed - excess of 180 in the 208 mph verified rated Lamborghini Diablo I own now
Quickest acceleration - Pretty close to a tie between a Ferrari Scuderia and a Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640
Haven't tried this new generation of sub-3.0 to 60 cars yet...still saving my nickels
People cleverly included non-cars since the question is "vehicle" I will ahve to amend my "most expsensive." I drove a 110 foot yacht for a weekend. I am not sure what brand but it is undoubtedly more expensive than any car I have been in. It was nto fast through. Painfully slow in fact.
I can't remember the last time I saw a Viper on the road. It's a shame they're being discontinued. There's something about the Viper that makes it stand out even in a crowd of more expensive exotic cars. I remember thinking how outrageous and over-the-top it was back when it was introduced in the early 90s. It's amazing how automotive performance has progressed since then. I dug up an old Car & Driver test of the 1995 Viper. Back then, $62,000 seemed like a lot of money and a 1/4 mile time of 12.8 seconds at 108 mph was super car territory. First forward to today, and the roads are littered with $60K pickups and SUVs and there's a 3 year old Ford Taurus in my garage that will hang with a 1995 Viper in a straight line. But, even now, a 20 year old Viper still looks modern and exotic.
Your post has me seriously thinking of buying an old Viper.
