Happens all over. I don't think it's caused by UV alone.

Oh yeah Ive seen it up here in NJ. But its on cars that arent taken care of at all. Very negligent owners.

What "care" can be taken of clearcoat and plastic that oxidizes over years? I haven't found waxing to make much difference.

Minimizing exposure through garaging and so forth is about all that seems to make a difference.

I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life except for 6 years in Florida and I’ve never seen frosted headlights on vehicles in Michigan, but a butt load in Florida.

Saw them frequently in the northeast/New England. And in North California. And here in the middle of things.

It ain't that simple.

Most take at least three grades of sandpaper. A perfect clear paint. And a lot more buffing.
Got the time and energy - then go for it.

The other solution is to have the dulled lenses professionally done at a dedicated shop. Around $80.00 pair depending on location.

Or buy used or aftermarket lenses.

Have done it all ways mentioned above. With varying results.

I've not sen that occur on my lights, perhaps there might some minor yellowing I haven't noticed but they look clear as day on the ones I've done. The sun may be compounding factor because those light are getting hammered by a debris even if it's just light dust. On the one car even the orange turn signals which were separate were screwed up. I never see any damage on the rear lights.

It seems it has occurred on every car I have had, most recent one was 2006 Buick I did, my old mans GM truck is getting a little foggy and that's a 2010. I'm here in PA so it's going to be similar weather to Michigan.

that because cars up north rust out leaving the headlight lenses on the ground first

The other cold morning I had to head out early and I found frost on my windshield so I grabbed the scraper and went to work but the scraper was junk or so I I thought so I grabbed another one and it too wasn't budging the frost and then it dawned on me that it was on the inside.

5:45 am 23 degrees out and I'm scraping inside my truck! LOL
