Ever find an old family photo album and discover a close relative once had a really cool car? Going through my mom’s home after her funeral. In the late 60s and early 70s my parents had a 1964 Pontiac GTO!!! First car I remember them having was a Datsun B-210 two door sedan. How did they go from a GTO to a Datsun?

They couldn’t afford to fill the GTO up to drive it that’s how

Probably right. I went to kindergarten in 1974 and it was about that time I remember the Datsun. The picture was them holding me as a newborn infant getting into the GTO.

Most of us got a more practical car when the first baby was born. I remember ours was a 1980 Datsun 210, 4 door for getting the baby into the car seat. Cost was just under $6,000, which seemed a lot then. The two-seat truck was not going to do it with three in the family.
There is a pic of my mom, about 7-8 months pregnant with me, standing next to Carroll Shelby in front of the 68 Shelby that my dad bought earlier that year.
There's a picture of my uncle standing next to his 1954 Studebaker Commander. Unfortunately, I don't remember that car as I was only one year old when he bought it.
