Although this video is for Toyota Camry, the dealer and manual recommends 10k mi oil change intervals. Look what happened. I think it applies to just about any car brand. Oil changes is not that expensive for most cars, if you do it yourself it shouldn't cost more than $40.
If you don't watch the video, basically the Toyota Camry owner has 180k mi on this 2015 car, the owner has not missed any car appointment for maintenance and the dealer calls for 10k oil changes. What started happening is the car is burning 2-3 liters of oil and that caused the engine failure and had to be replaced. The mechanic pointed out what parts of the engine had failures in multiple parts.
I'm doing 10k changes on a vehicle that has the 3.6L Pentastar. It's hauling around a 8000 lbs camper. Every oil change I'm sending the oil to a lab for analysis. The oil is doing fine. It could go longer. If you're not doing a used oil analysis it's truly just a guess on what intervals you should go with.
