If I didn’t live where idiots slather the road in salt all winter, it’d be a ‘58 Cadillac Sixty Special.
Since they do, I have to have more of a throwaway car, which means one of these plastic-and-computer things which pass for cars nowadays. I’m thinking a Ford Fiesta ST.
Doing some budgeting towards a late 2025 purchase (ie saving money so I can pay cash). If I don’t sell anything it would be something 4-5 years old for around $250k. The current short list is:
McLaren 720S
Lamborghini Huracan EVO
Maserati MC20 - these aren’t being received well so they are dropping fast
Porsche 992 GT3 - really seems overpriced but the market is never wrong at a given point in time
Selling something would bring more into the equation but they don’t make anything like these anymore and they keep going up in value on a mid-term basis.
Unless you have a lot of time in your hands to be dealing with non-sense car repairs, the only car on that list that will not be a maintenance nightmare is the Porsche.
Yes that’s one I own and love. It’s the long wheel base with AWD 2014 with 67k miles and flawless in no issues ever.
I had a 08 ls460 SWB. Mechanically same to yours. Non air. Loves it. Great power and handling. Very well built. Mark levinson sound was light years better than Harmon in my MB s550. I. Might go back to LS after MB.
I do love the new Corvettes. A guy with one parked next to me at the golf course last summer and saw me jonesing out over it. He gave me a good look, inside and out. It actually has a tiny trunk, but it will fit a golf bag full of clubs like it was designed for it. It’s so exotic looking and makes an incredible sound. Looks and sounds like an actual racing auto. Very impressive car. Would love to have one.
