I don't know if this thread has ever been on here before, and I don't feel like searching to see if it has, but anyway...what was the worst POS vehicle you've owned?

86 Chevy Cavalier. Rust holes the size of basketballs, garbage transmission, horrid engine, pitiful suspension, creaking/cracking/faded interior, ****-poor electronics, blown alternator at 50K miles, rear oil seal went bad at 55K miles, broken control arm at 57K miles, rotted brake lines, would never start when temps went below 20 degrees. I had that car for 15 months. That was 15 months of HELL.

My 1981 Chevette. The damned thing was an absolute POS from the time I drove off the lot.

Seriously. When my Chevette hit 7,500 miles, a little yellow flag dropped across the odometer with a "Check Engine" warning. Naturally, I freaked and took it into the dealer. As it turns out, that was a built-in mechanism to force you to go to the dealer and make sure the engine wasn't going to blow up.

The thing pulled to the right. The horned started beeping automatically whenever I made a left-hand turn. It burned engine oil like a mother. The happiest day of my life was when I unloaded that car in 2006 for a Mazda that I drove for 200,000 miles.

01 S500 followed closely by an 02 S430.

My GF had a nightmare 328 BMW, and my father had atrocious Audi A8's and Mercedes SL's.

German cars want you to believe you're buying luxury, prestige, and reliability. We all know that's the biggest joke running.

1981 Pontiac Sunbird. You had to lift the engine off the mounts to change the spark plugs. It got bad mileage, bad performance, broke down regularly, it was next to impossible to work on (half of the bolts were metric and half SAE. The engine was underpowered but large and heavy for a four cylinder. It was uncomfortable to sit in, the back seats were worthless. It was basically bland and ugly. It caught on fire from time to time. Eventually it burned up and the insurance company totaled it. Hallelujah!

Surely I can think of something good to say about it . . . . it was blue.

1983 Mercury Lynx. I dunno what it was about that car's carburetor, but keeping it clean and functioning properly was a full-time job for the neighborhood mechanic.
