Wink Automotive Stereotypes

I thought it would be fun to list some common "automotive stereotypes" that exist out there. This can be about car owners, car types, or pretty much anything car related.

I'll start with a couple examples:

BMW owners are jerks.

Ford electrical systems suck.

Camaros are for rednecks.

Remember, these are stereotypes (not facts), so please no childish arguing about how Camaros are not really for rednecks, ect. Of course not all stereotypes are true, so any attempt to argue for or against them will most likely lead nowhere. I just like to hear what the masses think or have heard about a certain type of car or car owner over the years from dad, mom, uncle bob, ect.

Lets have fun with this!

What's the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? With the BMW, the pricks are on the inside.

i would say that drivers of newer Audis would fall under the same category as Bimmer drivers.

Corolla drivers are always doing at least 5 under the speed limit in the fast lane, but they'll brag about their MPG to anyone who will listen.

VW Bugs and Jettas are chick cars (i personally have no beef with either, but that is the stereotype)

Guys who drive Miatas are light in the loafers (again, not my stereotype. i actually REALLY like the miata and wish i could fit)

Mike

One that I've heard is that Ranger 4X4's are for carpet munchers.

Another one.....cosmetically modded imports aka Ricers are for kids that wear their hat backwards, pants sagging, chain on wallet, just got done watching the Fast and the Furious for the 17th thousand time.......and mom just handed down to them her old worn out Civic/Corolla/Camry/Honda/Toyota/Hyundai/Kia

They don't all have to be negative, either:

The small block chevy is the best motor of all time.

The Ford 9" rear end is indestructable....

I have heard this one, however it couldn't be further from the truth as these are they are arguably most advanced and efficient carbs there is. Too complicated to tune for most thus they are deemed junk. I know... no arguing, but I had to put that out there. The most popular term I have heard for them is "Quadra-Bog"

Mostly true for Buicks... but overall a very accurate stereotype. Though I am an exception as a owner of two Caddys in my early 20's here.
