i didnt read the whole thread but this post popped up.... and as one who had owned an 86 hf model (mid 50's for mpg was easy to hit ) with the fuel crunch i'm surprised an updated version was never brought back out.

You have no idea!!! I dreamed of owning a Suburban throughout college and later, prior to the Excursion's existence. Then when the Ex came out and I got to drive my cousins, I was in heaven. I tease my husband about making my dreams come true...not by marrying me, but by purchasing me two Excursions. I soooo wish they still made them.

I remember when the first RX7's came along @'79 I think. Originally they were to be affordable sports cars. I loved my '83. Best car I have ever owned. Followed closely by my '70 Opel GT. I hope the new ones come back to the original intent, affordable.
