Another 03?

Well, I'm at 146,000+ now, so if that's an indicator, you'll be fine come that 150,000ish mile mark.

But, I have the 4.2L v6. No digging out COPs from under fuel rails and no spark plug blow out risk for me.

last October, I sold my '92 F150 with 182,000 miles on it to buy an '08. The '92 still had great mechanicals but body cancer was starting to show...

That's what's starting to be an issue with my '98 Nissan Frontier. It has ~112k on it now, and my wife and I can no longer carpool so I'll be putting some miles on it for sure.

The tranny (5 spd) went out under factory warranty (!) but I haven't had any problems since - hope to get at least 200k out of it.

Yep, I agree 100%. Why? Trucks are all body on full ladder frame not unibodies. Old cars that were body on frame lasted a long time also.

Full body on frame is the reason that all I drive are trucks today. A '96 K1500 4x4 Chevy and a '93 Suburban (one sweet limo like ride!).

I did not know the frontiers had surface rust issues I though they used the plastic dent resistant panels like most new cars do.

It's not what Nissan did, it's what I did.

And mine has no plastic, it's the previous body style.

'99 F150, V6, 4x4 long bed regular cab manual tranny owned since new--157,000 on it...still going strong...only issue is the usual Ford phantom wipers, and I've had to replace the upper ball joints.

My Chevy only has 60,000 miles on it but I have an old 79 Ford F-150 4x4 with a 351w and a 4 speed manual that still runs like a champ. It has a little surface rust, no bed and I had to rebuild the carb but thats it. Truck is a beast. Alot of the motors you see in trucks these days are great motors but I do hear the Hemi's get iffy past 100,000 miles.

Ditto.

You can even find old 1967 thru 1979 Ford and Chevy trucks still in service to this day, albeit usually beat up and weathered from all the years of use as a work horse. It's a testament to them.
