I am not able to parallel park at all, luckily when I took my driving test (years ago), they did not ask me!
I think there is probably some truth to the gender piece since men on average are known for having better spacial skills. However, I have seen my mother park her van perfectly in very tight spaces, so I am sure not all females have the same parking skills.
As a side note, when my son was about 7 years old, he said (while watching me try to park), "Mom, when I learn to drive, I am going to learn to park too".....lol!
Well there will always be exceptions to everything. But I have witnessed it all too often to the point where I would almost go up a lady having trouble parking with the offer to park it myself. But something tells me that's not wise. Really, men are just better parkers, maybe the larger size of a male means he can sit up in the driver's seat higher and also feels he is the one in control of the vehicle.
