They can't? I thought everyone with conscious mental ability could get married once they turned 18 and their intended spouse was of the opposite sex and not a sibling.

I don't see how a plate would be cause for that much distraction. If someone really is going to let themselves get into a wreck over trying to read a plate then so would they over billboards, signs, flashier cars, etc.

I think freedom and democracy should apply to everyone at all times even when we don't agree or get offended.... We can not have a system which is democratic and free until we get offended!

So yes, even ignorant, redneck, idiots should be able to have any tags or other tacky crap on their cars/trucks based on principle. I may not like it or agree with it but that's what our system is all about and that's what makes us a great nation.

I don't necessarily disagree, but does that mean you want to allow plates that read: FA QUE?

Just a question, I would not mind, but states are not going to allow that.

At least not when they can catch it.

Only if you have a bad habit of looking at them while driving and not paying attention to the road.

Freedom of speech gives you the freedom to be an obnoxious jerk but it does not obligate the state to be complicit in delivering the message. He can exercise his free speech by putting it on the back of the truck himself. The state's unwillingness to do it for him doesn't interfere with his right to do so.
