I have a chance to take a job with that commute. Google directions says 45 minutes but 110 minutes with traffic. It's been years since I've traveled that direction though.

Can anybody give me an idea of what it's like going through the 95 tunnel at rush hour now? Is it really going to take me 110 minutes do you think?

Thanks in advance for any information you can throw my way!

You have two major bottlenecks, the 95-695 interchange near White Marsh and the Ft McHenry Tunnel. A 8 or 9 to 5 commute will be difficult. Would guess hour and a half ballpark, perhaps someone else can give a more accurate estimate.

Yeah I wouldn't think it'd be much more than an hour and a half. Not sure if you might be better off just taking the beltway all the way around...you're still going to have some rough traffic going that way, but I don't know if it'd be any worse than staying on 95, plus you don't have to pay the toll.

It will be rough. Expect hour and 15 minutes to hour and half.

Main issues will be the jam up on Southbound 95 around the bend at New Forge Rd. You will have to deal with the jam up all the way down to 695 then onward to the tunnel.

Now, you could use 695 as an alternative but the topside is usually heavy in the morning as well. The tunnel will cost you but if you 95 or 895 and jump off in Catonsville, you should be fine because the tunnel thins out traffic for a little bit...

I-95/I695 interchange will be bad just like someone said..also along I-95 @ white marsh area, FMT tunnel and I-695 beltway....bad

You can take Bel Air Rd or Route 40 across town..probably best way to do it. Save 40cents on toll. But once you are off the rush hour, you can use the interstate.

Thanks all. I decided not to go for the job on that side of town for now. I did that kind of commute for 20 some years and am spoiled by my current 25 minute ride.

The responses were very helpful. thanks.
