Does anyone remember the "old" Italian festivals at Rash Field? (Baltimore: activities)

During the 70's and 80's? What fun times they were!!

. . . Venetian gondola that a proud son of Italy, Police Chief Frank Battaglia, had brought to the Inner Harbor. I think it was part of that Italian festival.

Overall, this is what went on in Baltimore in the dismal days after the 1968 riots: In an effort to instill some positivism in the demoralized city, a bunch of activists started the Baltimore City Fair. I have a relatively complete collection of old posters that remind us that the various fairs were held in areas that the city wanted to highlight. Hopkins Plaza in the Charles Center, the yet-to-be-built Inner Harbor and, I think, Rash field at the foot of Federal Hill which Infinite associates with the Italian festival.

Similarly, spurred by the various bicentennial activities, a huge number of ethnic festivals took place in the city. Some were independent, others gathered under the umbrella of All Nations Foundation.
