Hello,
Baltimore hosts a wide variety of festivals and events. I was curious to see what are your favorites? One of my votes goes to the Book Fair held this weekend in Mt. Vernon. Lots of music and local authors to read up on. I also really like the Halloween Parade of Lanterns held in Patterson Park. I really enjoy that Kinetic Sculpture Race hosted by the Visionary Arts Museum held in May. Any thoughts?

I like the Greek festival in June: Greek Folk Festival 2008 - Baltimore, Maryland . There are also a few saint's days that are celebrated in Little Italy. St. Joseph's Day comes to mind -- there are donuts! Mmmm....

I second the vote for artscape. Though the carmel apple I had at the book festival was pretty delicious, so it's a close call.

With my mother's family being Ukrainian and settling in Baltimore, I always enjoyed the Ukrainian festival.

I believe at first they held it at Hopkins Plaza, then it moved to Festival Hall by the Convention Center, and now they hold it at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church by Patterson Park.

Default This is supposed to be terrific

Zion Lutheran Church, at City Hall Plaza, still has services in German (as well as in English). They also offer various levels of German lessons. They have two outstanding public events each year -- a springfest and an Octoberfest with sour beef. I have never done the latter, but this year I will. Regulars claim the sour beef is to die for.
