Fairmount Park celebrates 100th anniversary - baltimoresun.com

At one point I was totally fascinated by Fairmount Park. Particularly the houses on Winterbourne Road that are high on the hill and overlook Leakin Park. It's an isolated pocket, an acquired taste really, that everyone should see. GPS or drive by a map.

I agree a wonderful neighborhood with nicer old houses and views of the Gwynn Falls valley. Its part of a core group of neighborhoods on the far west side.. Gwynn Oak, Ashburton, and Windsor Mill that have wonderful old large single family detached homes. Fairmount Park is a stone throw from Walbrook Junction which unfortunately is not one of the City's more troubled areas.. but that doesnt seem to have affected this community.

Default More about Ashburton

I attended last summer's Ashburton getogether. It included some vendors for food and arts and books, but the most appealing feature was seeing a dozen or so houses and their gardens. Towards the end of the day, everyone gathered for refreshments (lemonade and cake, IIRC) under huge trees to meet and greet.

Saturday will be a splendid opportunity to visit Ashburton. The weatherman says it's going to be wonderful.
