I'm curious, for those of you on here with pets where do you take them for medical care? I've been pretty happy with Light Street Animal Hospital in the past, but recently my cat had a semi-urgent issue and the Dr. at LSAH was out of town for the week so I had to scramble to find a new vet. I ended up going to Falls Road Animal Hospital, but I'd like to know what experiences other people have had with vets. It would be nice to have another backup in mind if LSAH can't get me in on short notice.

Falls road is great for emergencies, but it is quite pricey. I've used Aardmore on Loch Raven Rd and been very pleased with the service and price.

Your normal vet didn't have someone covering their practice when they were out of town???? To me that is a MAJOR red flag! I live out in Frederick County and it has been years since I've dealt with any vets in the Balto area but when I was growing up in Dundalk my mother used to use a vet all the way out in Towson because of his reputation (This was over 30 years ago) But I believe any Vet should have coverage when they are unavailable

I second both of these statements. Also, I've been pleased with the doctors at Falls Rd., but the wait times can be intolerable.

My regular vet is Old Court Animal Hospital in Pikesville but for emergencies I like Pet ER in Towson. Falls Road is nice but pricey and they can get kinda busy.

Had to visit Falls Road Animal Hospital last night for my pet on an emergency status--doctors were friendly and the staff was accommodating considering it was quite late in the evening. The fact that they are open 24/7 was a lifesaver, although, you definitely pay for this added convenience.

Haven't checked out Light Street yet, but, I have a turtle--not sure if they take care of exotic pets.

Falls Road has a reputation for being better with less common pets. I'm not sure I'd take a turtle to Light Street Animal Hospital, cats & dogs definitely appear to be their main business.
