I saw there was a shooting Tuesday night in Dickeyville, a very tight-knit community of quaint homes where nothing usually happens. We had thought about moving there at some point in the future. Does anyone know what happened? I can assume it's someone brought their problems from outside into the neighborhood, but who knows... And the news outlets don't have any info, either.

During the 70's, I attended Dickeyville as a kindergartener.

During the 60s and 70s, Leakin Park was the favored dumping ground for homicide victims.

In certain circles, I hear it still is a dumping ground for homicide victims.

I don't know anything about the specific event, but there has been crime in the neighborhood as a result of non residents "passing through" since the late 80s when my family lived there. We moved to Howard County after my father's car was stolen for a third time, except this time at gunpoint.

Dickeyville is basically an enclave of Woodlawn, not the nicest part of town. I'm surprised there isn't more crime there.

Someone from a nearby apartment complex was shot and wondered into Dickeyville for help. Nobody in the neighborhood was involved except to call for help.
