They would rather choose to largely ignore the Black genocide in America. It's one of the main reasons why Black Lives don't matter in America.

I am aware of the situation in the DRC. I suppose it depends on what metrics you're using to define the severity of the crisis.

I will amend my statement to say that the Syrian crisis is arguably the worst humanitarian crisis of our time or it is one of the worst.

My original (and more important) point still stands that comparing Baltimore to the situation in Syria (or in the DRC or any other similar crisis) is absurd.

I know your a smart and reasonable guy Infinite, so hear me out.

Just think about all the young Black males have been victims of violent deaths over the past 30 years. Not just Baltimore but all of America.

Keep in mind that just in Philadelphia alone, since 1988 where 3,113 people(overwhelmingly African American) were killed compared to the 3,517 American troops who died in Iraq.
Philadelphia Homicides 1988 - 2012 | Philadelphia Inquirer

This is just one city! If you would combine the entire US for violent Black deaths the numbers are staggering. If Whites where being murdered at the rate Blacks have, this would be considered a dire crisis by our government leaders yet America doesn't want to address the huge elephant in the room in regards to this Black genocide. I know this is the Baltimore forum but what I'm talking about is a problem much bigger than that.

Would you please let us know who's perpetrating the said genocide? Come on now, we're all ears...

I asked pretty much the same question in post #50 above. No answer. Apparently it is all our fault. I didn't even know I did anything wrong.

Is that so? Would you care to elaborate on that? As far as I know all hoods in Baltimore are attached to oversized dark sweatshirts, not white robes.

I use the metric of dead bodies, of which the Congo crisis is an order of magnitude larger than what has happened in Syria so far.

I will admit that the refugee crisis in the Western World is greater for Syria, but this more a function of the fact that the people in Congo just died, there was no where to go, nowhere to flee, it was as close to "WWIII" as we have had, the entire region took up arms and the civilians died by the millions.

I don't mean it as a trolling comment or a "gotcha." I just try to make it a priority to remind people of what when on there, few people know, and those that do tend to forget about the scale of the conflict and huge body counts.

I would but it would derail the thread topic even further than it already is.
