I realize that you enjoy poking at people who are different from yourself, but in what universe does pledging an additional $135 million and overhauling the MTA's bus network qualify as siding with people who dislike Baltimore?

I noted that in Hogans proposal document that there is a slide of MTA Police riding the transit...so he is definately wanting to change the current image ( or lack there of) of the system.. I hope it works.. I ride every form of the MTA with the exception of the Commuter Bus and Metro Subway. I havent had any problems.. but have seen a plenty..So, maybe Im more immune but someone from Carroll County getting on the #13 for the first time may not feel the same way...

Seems like the poor who live along Greenmount will go from having some of the best transit options to hardly none. Aside from implementation issues that may arise, I like the plan.

This says so much!

“Baltimore is woefully behind other cities in public transit, and this plan
does little to advance it. At best, this bus plan may help the state fulfill its
basic obligations under Maryland law.”

The city of Baltimore just seems to conduct business in a backwards fashion that only benefits City Hall and their cronies.

The #3 runs every ten minutes during rush hour and the #8 runs every 7 1/2 minutes. Is the #8 totally over packed between 7:00 and 8:00 AM? If so, it would almost be to where it needs to be to justify rail. Also, if it is over packed, that would make the decision in the Governor's to take the buses off of Greenmount Avenue look even stranger.

I am hoping that a better route plan will get ridership up to where is needs to be to justify rail in several corridors. One thing is for sure, at lower ridership levels, the bus is the only logical answer for public transportation.

Here's a translation for the wonderful Transit Plan to End All Transit Plans:

We're suggesting this bus system because we actually don't have a better solution than the Red Line that would allow us to save face and not look blatantly anti-Baltimore while also helping out the outer-outer ring folk (i.e., Bel Air, Westminster/Reisterstown, Columbia, Severna Park/Annapolis, etc.). We're waiting for Baltimore's demographics to look more like DCs...winkwink. At that point, we will then go begging the federal government for money to give the region the mass transit system it actually needs.

Hogan got something less than 25 percent of the vote in Baltimore City. The fact that he's showing them anything more than the back of his hand is an illustration that is trying to be the governor of all Maryland, not just the parts that agree with him.
