I have to say that in a city that has an illegal dumping problem . What is the one agency that you would absolutely expect not to implode? Missed trash pick ups..vehicle lines around the block to drop off recycling and suspension of bulk pick up are all great ways to fill weeded lots and vacants with trash . I can't say I blame some of the workers for walking off the job. We have been in this COVID mode for three months so I would have thought the city would have ramped up it's ppe for front line workers and uses the infamous Board of Estimates to secure an on call contractor to be able to step in in an emergency to cover routes. If that were not possible ...why not extend the hours at all the city dumps so people don't have to wait as long in line ? I saw several small haulers..peel out of line and speed off into PH hopefully not to find a deserted lot to unload on ....maybe I am missing something but seems like it could have been handled better
