If you love Mexican food, then look into Patterson Park for your future home. Lots of Latin influence and they are springing up all over. There are also Salvadoran (papusas), Columbian, Dominican, and Peruvian places.

Bolton Hill is a beautiful neighborhood (probably my favorite), but very expensive. Not many homes go up for sale around there. It is a little out of the way and has some rough edges to the west of it.

Thanks. I found an apartment in Bolton Hill i can afford so i think i'll look into that. I just changed my mind and took Mercy on their offer instead (it was much better than hopkins esp. with the sign on bonus).

Default Welcome

Congratulations on two scores. I used to live in Bolton Hill, first on the top floor of a house in the 1400 blk Park Avenue and then at Sutton Place.

Hospitals and colleges draw muggers like turds draw flies.

Just a fact of life, sad to say, anywhere you go.

Medical workers-including doctors-are a possible big payday-so don't walk around with your stethoscope around your neck while you wear scrubs, some docs I know have been kidnapped and forced to write scrips at gunpoint.

Students are also very profitable victims.

Be extremely careful, and keep that pepper spray ready to deploy!

It's happened-my upstairs neighbor years ago was snatched and forced to write scrips until his pad was empty.

People have also been taken from atm to atm and forced to withdraw cash.

Thank God, it's rare-but it does happen.

That's quite scary. While i did like the house by hopkins, i single female who can't afford to be kidnapped or mugged. I used to get emails from security about students who were mugged around campus back when i was in school - not that long ago. But usually, some of them get hurt and are rushed to penn for treatment so i'd rather be safe than sorry.
