Item: I went to the launch of Joseph Sterne's book about
The Sun 's World War II combat correspondents. Even though all guests were asked to pay $15 toward a really good spread, the place was packed.
Looking at amazon.com tonight, I see that Sterne's book is sold out. Just before Christmas. Here is a moneymaker for the historical society, except that it doesn't want to make money.
