I am looking to move to Maine just don't know where. I am considering Rocklalnd, Belfast, Bucksport, Freeport, Brunswick, Bath and Thomaston. Any feedback on any of these place would be most appreciated. I am planning to rent for 1 year and then decide if I am making it a permanent move.

Do you have work lined up? What field will you be looking for work in? Each area offers some different choices.

What type of activities do you like? Are you interested in an "active nightlife"?

Thx for your response. I am a retired senior. Looking to rent for a year and will then decide if I stay or come back to Colorado. Some social life would be nice. I like dancing, camping, and chit chat. I like working out in a gym and swiming. I'm also into other more sedate activites like playing cards and scrapbooking.
I want to be close to the ocean, even able to look at it from where I live if possible. I do need the security of good medical facilities if the need arises. I have no major medical concerns at present.

You might get more replies if you post this question in the main Maine forum. Belfast, Rockland, and Bucksport are all well outside the Bangor area.

Given that good medical facilities are a prime concern, both Belfast and Rockland have hospitals -- I consider Belfast's Waldo County General to be one of the best small hospitals in Maine. Bucksport does not.

Belfast is pricy, even for rent. We live here now, but are looking. Camden is also pricy, but nice. Thomaston is another pricy spot. All very nice towns though. Keep in mind that these towns die off during the winter months. Good luck.
