I wouldn't even go there. He's not known for being the friendliest person to approach. A friend once told me that her 12 year old son approached him for an autograph in the mall and King supposedly told the kid to "f--k off". I don't know if that's true, so take it with a grain of salt. But, I think one of the reasons King continues calls Bangor home (in the summer at least) is because Bangor people don't bother him. Seriously, it's like an unwritten rule. He's not old news to us, but he's definitely not new news, either :-P

If you genuinely happened to run into him, the most I would do is say, "Hi! I'm a big fan!" as you pass by him. If he wants to engage further, he'll let you know. Honestly though, it's not really going to be an issue. The chance that you'll run into him is next to zero--you'd have better luck running into Patrick Dempsey in Portland! Sorry, hope that doesn't dampen your enthusiasm for the area!
