Gee, I wonder what the reasons could be? The McCourts, the fact that Dodger Stadium has become a haven for gangsters, and perhaps the beating almost to death of Bryan Stow, who still lies in a coma, might have something to do with it..

Quote:
Whether a boycott against the McCourts, fear of safety or simply uninspired with the team after last season’s sub-.500 effort, attendance is plummeting at Dodger Stadium.

Empty seats are everywhere, at every level. Even field level seats seem only dotted with fans. Some entire sections routinely sit empty.

Baseball’s 30 teams are down 635 fans per game thus far into the season (through Wednesday) or 2%, but the Dodgers are their big drag.

Through their first 18 home dates, Dodgers are down 7,268 fans per game, compared to last year -- the biggest drop in baseball.

The true Dodger fans have to be beside themselves. Shame that a handful of thugs and a joke of an owner have brought that historic organization to its knees. Hope they get back to prominence because the Dodgers are an important cog in the MLB wheel. That said, you can't blame people for staying away with the stench surrounding that franchise right now. I know the Angels gotta be glad to welcome any stragglers to their side.

You mean like the Rams were an important cog in the NFL wheel? And look what happened to the Yankees when they had a joke of an owner.

The fault is with the people of Los Angeles, not the team. Do you know what the attendance was at the first home game ever played by the Los Angeles Angels? 11,931. (Eli Grba threw the first pitch.)

The Dodgers right now have a better than average team, with a better than average chance of making the playoffs, but a couple of key players currently on the DL. If the LA fans would rather watch the Portland Dodgers on TV, that's their business. Or back to Brooklyn, where they at least have a fan base. Liike the Raiders went back to Oakland.

Three NFL teams have abandoned Los Angeles and moved elsewhere (don't forget the Chargers). Ever wonder why?
