Sandy Valdespino. Played for the Minnesota Twins through the mid to late 60's. Short guy who spent most his career as a steady pinch hitter. Very pleasant person who once spent an hour talking to a bunch of wide eyed youngsters (me included) in the parking lot of old Metropolitan Stadium. I'll never forget it. THAT'S how you make fans for life. Some of today's ballplayers could take lessons.
