Watching the new NBA countdown on ESPN since they fired Chris Broussard and Jon Barry and replaced them with "Jalen Rose" and "Bill Simmons". It's surprising that Magic Johnson was not fired since he is a horrible analyst. Even the setup is horrible by the way they just sit at a round table talking about basketball like they are in a bar. When you watch TNT you have a actual host who controls the flow of conversation between the analysts unlike ESPN's horrible NBA show that looks unorganized.

BTW: The New guy Bill Simmons looks very nervous and uncomfortable on the ESPN set.

They didn't fire Broussard he's doing sideline reporting of the LAC vs LAL game. Where are you getting this information or are you making it up?

I see that he is in other roles on ESPN so maybe it was just Jon Barry. Well I guess he was removed from NBA Countdown not fired from the network. Jon Barry I haven't seen at all so I guess he was fired

But they do need a host on ESPN. They did that all last season and it was horrible, so I thought they were going to add a host this season--guess not.

As much as Bill Simmons can be an annoying Celtics homer, he's just awesome. Jalen Rose brings personality and he's actually played in the NBA before.

Simmons + Rose > Barry + Broussard

Simmons + Rose > Barry + Broussard

Simmons acts like he is on sports radio and need to be told he is on TV

They need to eliminate the show altogether and just have highlights at the half from a SportsCenter studio

ESPN has never done well presenting the NBA IMO.

-Too boxy.

-Not enough creativity, or "flow" (i.e. what you see on TNT with Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson).

It seems like ESPN brings their old programming habits from 30 years ago to covering leagues now. I don't know. I've never gotten the excitment from them, as I have from TNT (or NBC when they did games). You can tell TNT really likes basketball.
