No. Father Time waits for no one, and Kobe will be 36 at the start of next season. I hate the spectacle of guys like Iverson and Nash trying to monetize their name-ID in their late 30's. It's one more reason why I hardly watch the NBA anymore.
If/when Kobe comes back he may be more of a point-2... which we saw some of this year.
He's ready to take fewer shots, and if he finds himself on a Laker team that still needs him to score 30 a night, he may retire a litte early. This is an educated guess.

Kobe is going to play the next 2 years on <30 win Laker teams that don't need him to do anything but show up and put butts in the seats for his farewll tour.
With that said, they don't want him getting hurt....he's sure as heck not going to catch Kareem or Malone in scoring and is only like 500pts or so behind Jordan.
With that said, I can see Kobe just roll along playing 30min a game and taking 15 shots a night and just cruising off into the sunset after 2 years and 60-70million dollars.
Anybody not recognizing as the Lakers taking AT LEAST a 3 year stretch in the bottom 1/4 of the NBA and stockpiling draftpicks is not facing reality.
