There are organizations that really know height is might in basketball and that is how they become successful. Raptors is a poster child of them.

Raptors drafted 7'1 Christian Koloko of AZ (at 33rd!) and signed undrafted 6'6 Ron Harper Jr of Rutgers.

It's not the quantity but the quality guys. Koloko at 33 is a jackpot. I can't believe teams from 26-32 did not pick him.

Congrats Raps. I'm a fan now!

I agree Koloko was a steal. Great story too. He comes into college a tall skinny guy without much in the way of offensive skills. Almost no chance at the NBA. Bulks up after his freshman season and comes into the next season a beast. Defensively I think he is up there with Evan Mobley. He still needs to develop an offensive game. At least a go to mid range shot. He fits the type of big's Toronto likes.

There's a Raptors thread here.

Unofficial Toronto Raptors Thread

We need an NBA team thread list like the NFL page has. NFL Team Thread List. Maybe if I'm bored I'll make one sometime. Though I'm not sure we even have enough team threads to make it worth it.

He is quite lucky though for falling or choosing AZ. A player comparable is Jamarion Sharpe of Western KY who did not get drafted. Dude is now 7'5.

But yes Toronto is going to be stacked with their fresh acquisitions who are both NBA-ready. It's a shame a caliber of Ron Jr went undrafted. Yet you have players like this Ousmane Dieng who Ron Jr can easily cream on go 11th.

There was already a Raptors thread. Maybe a mod can archive the 5 prior posts (obviously not this one) into the old thread??

Is Siakam still out? Rockets might win this if so.

It's going to be entertaining with last year's #2 pick Jalen Green battling last year's #4 pick Scottie Barnes.

You were spot on with this assessment. He's turning out to be a steal especially with Siakam being out. I still think the Raps will take out the tanking Rockets.

Koloko is a good story too. He was this skinny guy when he got to Arizona who did not get much playing time. Spent the summer bulking up and totally transformed his game. Still not much of a shooter.

I don't believe Rockets are tanking on purpose. They just lack iodized salt in their veins.
