Ex-Bulls broadcaster, coach Johnny 'Red' Kerr dies

Norm Van Lier Dead at 61



Van Lier died way to young and was a legend of Chicago.

I grew up listening to Kerr calling Bulls games and he will be missed.

Sad to hear that, Kerr was a Bulls legend. I have a couple of their championship tapes from the Jordan era, and some of his calls were featured. The most famous one, IMO, was Jordan's last shot as a Bull in the '98 finals. "Hangs, fires, Scores!!!!" . Another was John Paxson's shot against Phoenix in '93. He really sounded alot younger than I thought he was back then.

I used to think he was Steve Kerr's dad when I was younger. My condolences to his family, and to the family of Van Lier

Condolences to all family; The Bulls; and the great city of Chicago.

I got 2 successive Tribune email alerts and was wondering what the heck's up with the Bulls?!!

Hope they have a great season and dedicate it.

Dang! I watched those two call so many games....well at least they lived fairly long and good lives.
