Vehicles have been electronically speed governed for many years now.

I don't like it either.

Well until you move to Germany hopefully you will try to follow the traffic laws of America. I don't necessarily agree with some laws, but 85 is one speed limit I don't personally feel the need to break. That's just me.

...and actually the Autobahn has a speed limit of 120km (75mph) in most areas, and even in areas where it isn't there's always a legally recommended speed of 130km. Also lane restrictions are much much stricter then any highway we have in the U.S. Not that mention half of the most rural sections resemble Baton Rouge at rush hour.

No Problem being yourself and doing what You feel safe at.I don't plan another trip abroad so I'll guess I will have to put up with the issue of the re-stricter plate on My truck.

It's been awhile since I was there so I don't doubt they lowered the speed as it does get more and more traffic.Lane restrictions are really just getting going good in this area and I really like it.

I just totaled up my insurance for the two trucks and the motorcycle/all have much higher limits than required by law plus uninsured motorist and other incidentals and I pay almost $1,800 per year.I wonder why that is!!! I have only filed one clam on auto ins. for $4,000 in all my driving carer and only 5 tickets the last one was 25 yrs ago.

Anyway I think you may be able to beat the governor with a aftermarket chip. And if you think it will void the warranty, that's just the risk you have to take. The other thing you could do is save the old chip and just pop it back in when it goes in for warranty work.

I wish I could pay $1800 for 3 vehicles, where do you live?
If I moved to Jefferson Parish, it would go down to $2400.
Better yet, what company?
