Victor, are you truly buying the container?

If so, would you be willing to share the details of your purchase of a seaworthy certified container in LB, as well as who you went through to get a privately owned container shipped as well pricing for the container and fees for shipping?

I have a need to send a partial load to Kona side but it's not for another 3 months. I'd still like to learn from your efforts, though. TIA.

When we were moving to Hawaii I asked the barge company if any of their 20' containers were for sale. They only had two and one of them was at my port, so they specifically sent that container to our house to load up.

When we got here we had the option to buy the container, or not.

We bought it. The irony is that most of the stuff we brought here eventually wound up going to charity or carted to the dump. The most valuable thing we brought here was the container that it all shipped in. We store all our livestock feed and farm supplies in it.

What's the cost of a 20' from Long Beach to Hilo running these days?

As of the first of September, it's gonna be 46% more between Honolulu & Hilo. Young Brothers just got a rate increase approved.
