Trussville is a Great place to live and it is only 5-7 miles from the Outlet mall. My family and I have lived in Trussville for over 10 years and we LOVE it.
We moved here from Little Rock , Ar and we found that the people living in Trussville are the Best.

My second choice would be Leeds Or Moody.

Welcome to Birmingham , Al & ROLL ! TIDE ! ROLL !

I live in Leeds and it is very convenient to pretty much anything you could want! There are plenty of good neighborhoods in the area. Someone mentioned Stoneybrook Plantation which is beautiful, but it is on the pricier side. Other neighborhoods nearby include Woodruff Farms, Cedar Rock Farms, Southern Trace, Briarwood Place, Cahawba Trace, and Rowan Springs. Any of these would be about five minutes from the shops and just about 10-20 minutes from anything else!

Default Welcome!

Hi! I just read your post about moving to the area close to Shops of Grand River. Sounds as though you are doing your homework, and I think you are so wise to rent for awhile before buying. All the posts so far have offered good thoughts, except the one saying Leeds is in decline. Although I work in Homewood, I moved to Leeds from Birmingham a couple of years ago because I wanted to enjoy the "hometown" atmosphere of this area. Leeds has a lot to offer, and I urge you to look closely at the lovely residential areas here while you are making your decision! Best wishes with your decision!

This may be too late of a reply to your inquiry, but I would highly recommend looking at the subdivision named Grant's Mill at 119. It is a quiet 80 home subdivision on Hwy. 119, and is approximately 5 miles from your husband's work location. I have lived in Hoover, Vestavia, Trussville, and Brook Highland before moving to this subdivision. All of those locations have their advantages/disadvantages, but I am thrilled with the location, the people, and the home values in this neighborhood. And, we are convenient to most any needed venue, e.g., markets, theaters, convenience stores, post office, cleaners, interstate...all are within 5 miles of this location. And, I have a beagle!
