If its geological location is the inner core of the Earth then it really is the DEEP south

The south is not simply the southern half of the US. If it was, then Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Los Angeles would be in the south. Identities are subjective human experiences, not mathematical.

I don't know why you're bringing stereotypes into this. No one else, nor I brought up that, you did. The south has a completely different culture from the rest of the country, it's quaintly put, southern culture. Culture is not defined or limited to lines of longitude and latitude, they are made up by the history, traditions, and people that populate those areas.

I really can't believe you're trying to play this off.

But Birmingham has a different stereotype than Atlanta, or Charlotte, or Raleigh.

Culture is one thing (and even so, Southern culture can be found in Miami), but you can't dispute that Miami is geographically located IN the South--which is why I mentioned it.

When I said southern cities, I meant deep south cities. Deep south includes Georgia, northern Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The ones you listed aren't in any of those states, and I hardly consider Oklahoma southern.

It seems if you were able to gather that I probably inferred deep south by the cities I did list that your comment was not needed.
Firstly, being that this is a message board and anyone is free to respond to any post, I'll be the one to decide if my comment is "needed" or not. Clearly it was, given the omissions/contradictions occurring between this post and your previous one which I'll go on to highlight.

Secondly, if you're referring to the Deep South, then that's what needs to be explicitly stated instead of just saying "Southern." Otherwise you come across as a Deep South purist that only regards Deep South areas as the "true South" which is a slap in the face to Southerners outside of this particular region.

Thirdly, even if you were only referring to cities in the Deep South, you still missed Jacksonville and Memphis. While Memphis is in Tennessee which as a whole isn't considered a Deep South state, Memphis itself is a part of the Mississippi Delta region and it doesn't get any more Deep South than that.

Fourthly, OK is something of a hybrid but its history, culture, voting patterns, etc. gives it a higher affiliation with the South than with any other region.

Fifthly, if you were only referring to the Deep South, why did you mention the Texas metros? East Texas is considered Deep South and Houston may marginally be a Deep South city, but there's nothing Deep South about DFW, Austin, and San Antonio.

DEEP IS NOT A GEOGRAPHICAL TERM.

SOMETIME AFTER I GOT OUT OF PRIMARY SCHOOL I BELIEVE THEY MUST HAVE STOPPED TEACHING GEOGRAPHY.

I am not getting into this. Just pointing out that there is a real South just like all other regions of the country. (and they all have a culture and an accent)

If one wants to define comparisons then they should be informed enough to carry it off or not do it.

Those who come in to , basically intrude, should be aware that their opinions are not more plausible than the ones they are trying to discredit.

I hope you have fun because otherwise this is a total exercise in futility and of no consequence.

Last, there is no better, best, better than yours, bigger, bigger than yours,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,there is only different. And thankful I am for that. I find good and bad everywhere I go. Those who need to tear down must have issues.

raj of many places and adventures

Birmingham is rated about right in my mind, closer to a third tier city certainly not a first tier or second tier I would not believe.

That's clearly false. You are using an outdated tier system. You should update to either TierMaster 9000 or iTier Sprinkler v7 for Mac users. One uses alternating letters the other uses Roman numerals descending from L for tiers. To translate between them you have to download the Crosstier Matrix app for your iphone or droid.

Only then can you come in here and talk tiers.
