Hi all

I am going to take a road test at the Birmingham DMV. The website says that road skills test can be scheduled, but the earliest appointment is next Monday, and I want to get it done prior to that. So I am thinking of just showing up there at 7 AM when they open tomorrow (or the next day) to try and get it done.

Is that possible? Or is it strictly appointment based?

Thanks.

wow. It has been so long I don't remember. But I do remember it was very busy.

I would definitely call and ask this question.

Actually, the better thing to do is go to the DMV in Helena, right off I-65. Much shorter wait time.

I think you mean Pelham, right? Tank farm exit, left then left again at the gas station.

Yep. All my kids have gone there. Takes about one zillionth the time as the places in Jefferson County. No kidding, the last time I went, we arrived at 8 and were done by 9.

I know in Guntersville the state cut back on DMV personal so that there is only one person when there use to be 3 people. The office is locked while the person does road test so you have people standing outside waiting their turn in the heat.
