A gang of thieves working at a BMW plant in Germany took a leaf out of country singer Johnny Cash’s book - and decided to steal the factory ‘one piece at a time.’
Over several years they stole over three million pounds worth of parts.
I was told that back in the late 60's / early 70's the only thing that the line workers at the Ford plant in Mahwah N.J. couldn't get out were radios. It seems like everything else was fair game!
In the old show MASH, Radar O'Reilly was mailing a jeep in pieces back to Iowa... Too funny...
As for stolen parts, this has probably grown over the years as parts have become so costly and parts can be sold easily on ebay or craigslist...
