hello friends,

we are looking at moving to star idaho. does anyone know if they offer dsl (digital subscriber line) for internet INSTEAD OF HAVING TO USE CABLE.

cable slows down as more users get onboard so the posted, bragged about speed diminishes rapidly. dsl does not have this problem.

so, is dsl available in star?

many thanks,

You are correct in your assumptions about Cable, out in Star there is probably only ADSL available. However, it depends on where in Star you are talking about, can you give a more specific address or at the very least a zip code?

I believe Heron River has some sort of Fiber offering available in the development. When they initially put the infrastructure in the ground, they made a bid deal over the fiber-optics, but it may be dark if they couldn't find a service provider. Last time I checked the DSL speeds in Star were not all that great so I stayed with Cableone and just upgraded to 50meg service. For the most part I'm happy with noticeable slowdowns only during late evenings on the weekends...even then only on very high res HD streams.
