It seems that a lot of people think she is lying about "that".

Why? I mean really, why would anyone make up something like that? To sell books, I guess. But I'm not under the impression that she really needs/needed the money.

I don't know...

I am into reading Anita Shreve books now. I read "Testimony" and couldn't put it down. I'm reading "Resistence" right now.

I just finished King Leopold's Ghost. I had an *inkling* that there was some bad times there under colonialism...geesh, this is along the lines of Stalin's Gulag.

Which will I start tonight? I have Things Fall Apart, and The Heart of Darkness.

I'm reading Without Reservations by Alice Steinbach. Not bad. But I'd rather be reading a mystery - a Ruth Rendell or maybe P.D. James, as I'm into British writers right now - but it's for a book club and the meeting is coming up.

I'm reading Pops by Terry Teachout, which is a new biography of Louis Armstrong. If you are at all interested in jazz and history, I highly recommend it. It is very, very good!
