Finished both A Change in Altitude and Body Surfing, both Anita Shreve, both pretty good. Currently reading Columbine. Loved The Help, maybe Lacuna next.

Contact by Carl Sagan. Actually I'm re-reading it. It's about an astronomer who runs a radio telescope observatory hoping to be contacted by intelligent life in the universe. Beings do make contact. The book was made into a movie with Jodie Foster and Matthew McConahey.

The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Civil War. Solid research, interestingly written and lot so little historical tidbits that I enjoy.

In one of my recent thrift store runs, I picked up a copy of The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule. I remember hearing about this case on the news while I was raising my boys and am surprised that I've never read this book before! Am finding it thoroughly engrossing.

I'm still waiting for my brother to get a load out this way and bring me my copy of that. Of course, considering the weather of the last couple of weeks, he might want to stick closer to home for another couple of months! (He lives in TN and I'm in NV)

Finished.

I thought it was a good, and quick read, and recommend it to anyone that is curious about her life...

That is how I got hooked on Ann Rule back in the day. It's an exceptional book and the depth of her research in all of her books is amazing. I had never read true crime before I read Ann Rule. I read everything that she writes. She's that good.

Small Sacrifices is another one of hers that is excellent.
