I have a newspaper clipping with a quote from a book called Hand's Back.
I searched Google and Ebay and Book Finder dot com and can not find the book or the author's name.

Anyone heard of this book?

I haven't, but, you know, not everything in the world is on the internet. Maybe it's too obscure. Maybe a good librarian could help? And are you sure it's a quote from a book, and not from an article or essay?

I'll check a library.

It came from a big city newspaper.
Below a photo or other image, it says: - from his book, "Hand's Back"

I love a good puzzle like this but this one had me so stumped that I got to the point where I was Googling and Amazoning "Hans Bach," hoping that it was a misprint in the newspaper you read.

This is definitely a mind-boggler! And even a Google-boggler.

Come back and let us know if you've had any luck finding it, please!

Have you tried to track it down through the newspaper? I bet they would have that information in their archives. Give 'em a call and/or send an email.

What was the quote? Sometimes you can find books by quotations from it. Another suggestion is to search the online issue of the newspaper the reference to the book appeared in for the review.

Didn't the article identify his? Can you Google the quote?

Searched Alibris and came up with this list there.

Alibris: Hands Back

A lot of books with "hands" and "back" in the title, just close to it with no cigar. Also, in many futile searches for older or oop books, I've run across stuff that was self-published which throws more wrenches in the works. I wish I still had access to Books-In-Print!
Good luck.

I checked at the local college library and they came up with zero.
The public library is closed for renovation.

I can check the paper it appeared in, but I have no idea when I clipped it out.
It clearly says "from his book" and not from his article, journal, etc.
