Has anyone read the book 2012 The Return of Quetzalcoatl? It's a "metaphysical epic." I know it isn't new, but I just started reading it. I'm about half way through the book, and I'll have to say I find it very interesting. If you've read this book, what did you think? And also, did you have any strange experiences while reading it? Thanks for any and all responses.
Redbird-Thanks for the response. The author, Daniel Pinchbeck, has a previous book called Breaking Open the Head. I don't know anything about that one, and the only knowledge I have about this author is what I've read so far in 2012. Right now I'm going to check out Reality Sandwich. Thanks again, from The Saucy One
That link Reality Sandwich looks interesting too. There seems to be quite a variety of topics. I'm going to bookmark it, and I'm looking forward to reading more of the articles. Not everyone is interested in metaphysical phenomena, but I love to read all kinds of books. Also, I consider myself fairly open minded.
I am almost finished reading this book. I've only been reading it late at night without all the distractions from the outside world, so it's taking me longer than usual to finish this one. All I can say is WOW! Has anyone else read it? Please respond if you have, I would love to discuss this book with others.
Redbird-If you're out there, did you have a chance to check it out? Saucy
The old me probably would have taken that personally and assumed you never read, or heard of the book, and that you just came here to rattle cages. The old me might have said, "Maybe you should take a poll or something."
But, the new me (per Agreements #2 & 3) has other ideas. I am still going to assume you know nothing about this book. After all I am a work in progress. But, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and answer seriously. It's probably unwise to fixate on a date or time. After all, time is a man-made concept. It's probably better to think about the ideas contained therein. Some very important, interesting ideas that are not easily brushed aside are proposed by the author. Lastly, 1984 has passed as has 2001, but that does not mean that the ideas put forth in those books have become obsolete or irrelevant.
Any reader who is tempted to read this book, would be well advised to look up some critical opinions on the topic before hand. One place to start would be Wikipedia.
jtur88-Thanks for providing the link. It reinforces what I said about 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, being a very interesting(and maybe timely) book. Saucy
If you want to rattle some cages, I have a dying thread in the POC titled VAP-New Political Party. It would be great to have some input.
Hey Saucy, are you still out there looking for discussion? I just picked this book up (I was somehow drawn to it where I normally would be) and now I can't put it down. Facinating!
