Looking for a studio in Cambridge or the North End for under $1100 (neighborhood)

My boyfriend and I are both in our early 20s so this is our first go-round at finding our own place. Neither of us want to deal with roommates again if at all possible.

We're looking at Cambridgeport, Central Square, Inman Square, the South End, and the North End as well for kicks. It just has to be near the T. (Inman's a bit out of the way, but we both like the neighborhood). We both work in the South End.

Living in a "modern" building is not at all important. Basically, as long as the plumbing works and there's a stove, we're fine.

JP, Dorchester, Allston, Brighton, Rozzy -- been there, done that, not interested.

I know that you're not supposed to advertise services on city-data, so any posts about finding reputable property management places, realtors, etc would be much appreciated. PMs about particular realtors or management places would be great.

Horror stories are always good, too.
