Hi there, visiting from Houston. Want to stay in Quincy Market, what is the closest/best hotel to stay at. Would prefer to walk out the front doors and be in Quincy Market. Anything like that you would recommend? Thanks!

The Boston Marriott Long Wharf is pretty close. If you want something truly high end and super nice, you could try the Boston Harbor Hotel, which is slightly further but still very close and is a really nice hotel right on the harbor.

Harborside Inn, The Bostonian. The Boston Harbor hotel is the nicest.

Great, thanks for the tips. Just curious, if price were no object, which one is closest to everything?

If price were no object, I'd stay at the Boston Harbor hotel -- close to stuff at the harbor, a short walk to Quincy Market and North End, etc. But technically the Mariott Longwharf is closer to Fanueil Hall.

I've walked among the three many times -- the North End, Aquarium/Harbor (near the Hotel) and Quincy Market.

Closest to "everything"? What is everything? Personally, I'd have little interest in being that close to Quincy Market and don't think it needs more than an afternoon as part of a visit.

That said, Boston is very small and walkable, it's nothing like Houston. So staying in, say, the Back Bay doesn't mean you are far from the North End, for example--it's a long-ish walk or a short subway ride.

Club Quarters Suites st 163 Devonshire is a five-minute walk.

The Hilton at 89 Broad Street is also quite close, as is the Bulfinch hotel on Merrimac Street and the Onyx at 174 Portland St.
