Only if:

-The house was in a location I didn't have to worry about the very wide range of people with different income levels in Boulder.

-The house, lot, and related infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, etc.) is designed to withstand the weather (including flooding).

-Boulder got rid of their snow removal policy.

-Boulder worked on getting more of their traffic lights on a synchronized system so that traffic flow is smarter and more efficient in regards to peak times and off hours.

There are more conditions but those are the ones that come to mind when I think of Boulder.

A townhouse was always out of the question. I like to have neighbors but not THAT close.

Even if I could afford to live there I'd probably still pass. Too far from Denver, and a little heavy on the nanny state politics for my tastes.

Boulder isn't without it's quarks but it's not a bad city to live in. The commute between Denver and Boulder is mild in my opinion but I'm used to commuting in Dallas. A lot of people live in one city or the other and travel back in forth. So during peak times, you can experience bumper to bumper traffic for a good portion of your commute. You're almost always guaranteed some form of traffic the closer you get to downtown Denver on I-25 or I-70. Again, it seems mild to what I'm used to dealing with back home. Now Fall is here or pretty close and some parts of Colorado are experiencing snow. Colorado is really good about keeping the main roads cleaned and the snow tends to melt off or become very manageable after 1-2 days. I highly recommend an AWD. You don't need some monster SUV or Bigfoot. The number one choice of vehicles is probably an AWD Subaru Outback or Forester...either one works extremely well in the snow...and yes, they manage the steep mountains just fine as well.

I'm sure you've heard a lot of things about Boulder...and yes, their true. Okay, not sure but probably so Colorado is an outdoor state and no more so than Boulder. Everyone in this town owns a bike, dog, and 4WD/AWD. Their always outdoors bike riding or hiking. Cyclist isn't as thick in town as they are on the outskirts of town. You can find them every where and I mean every where...hills and trying to climb 14,000ft mountains. Boulder does have some bike lanes which is nice but not so much on the outskirts of town. So you really do share the road with them, so keep an eye out for them.

Boulder is like the Animal Kingdom, well, in some parts. A lot of these critters can be easily scared off, even the bears and mountain lions but their still wild and unpredictable. So read up on them and exercise caution. Also, I'm not sure if it's a county thing or city thing but if you're required to use bear proof trash cans, please do. This in my opinion is very important. You don't want bears coming down from the mountains attracted to smells (and yes, they have very good noses) and becoming a nascence animal. People obviously comes first but I hate to loose a bear due to something that could be prevented.

Anyhow, hope that helps.

This ad sounds like a scam to me for one, and two, this drive would be absolutely awful.
