Hello Colorado! I am looking into a job in Estes Park. I do not see a lot of apartments to rent there...or much going on. Is it feasible to commute from say Boulder? Or any other ideas on where to live?

Thanks!!

p.s. I am 35, single, no kids.

I personally wouldn't want to make that commute. The only ways into and out of Estes are via windy mountain roads. During the winter the roads will often times be treacherous, and during every other part of the year they'll be jam-packed with tourists. On top of that the COL in Boulder is through the roof. Not my idea of fun.

Thanks for the input! That was my main concern - Winter roads!

I am not a small town gal, I would probably go stir crazy in Estes Park.

Loveland may be a possibility - with one small caveat. The most direct route to Estes Park (Highway 34 through Big Thompson Canyon) is currently under construction and is closed to all but local traffic until May of next year. That's a really long detour.

Ya, commuting to Estes Park from Loveland without Big Thompson Canyon would suck.

I honestly don't know about this one. Lyons is probably the closest but I don't think they have much in the way of apartments either. That and the road condition this time of year would be rough.
