Can someone tell me why people think this fight would be competitive? Other than speed, Khan has nothing to trouble Floyd with. It would take him two rounds max to adjust to Khan and start timing him.

Khan tends to grab and hold when he is in trouble and with his glass jaw and tendency to brawl I don't think he goes the distance with Mayweather. He has a decent jab and quick hands but as Danny Garcia proved, that isn't enough. Khan is very inconsistent and often fades in later rounds. Ironically he defeated Maidana in more convincing fashion than Mayweather.

Given Al Haymon's pool of talent it is a shame he can't put together better matches for Floyd and Garcia. Instead he has them fighting low-risk opposition. Products of smart marketing.

Exactly. If Danny Garcia could time Khan, then surely Floyd can.

Floyd has a MUCH higher ring IQ, better footwork, and better defense. He also has the best timing in the sport, and timing negates speed.

How does that make it a great fight ? I dont equate a knockout against a clearly weaker opponent to a great fight.

Notice he said a great fight for Floyd Mayweather fans...fans of his typically enjoy his mismatches and wins over cherry picked opposition. It's like playing poker with a fixed deck. I've actually seen fans of his happy with his win over Victor Ortiz. Its funny how they suddenly feel that guys like Ortiz, Guerrero, and Maidana are A class opposition and buy into the hype. What is even more puzzling is how Mayweather simultaneously builds up his overrated opponents and ridicules their boxing ability.

Mayweather needs to be fighting Thurman, Porter, Broner, Garcia, or even Alexander or Bradley. I'm guessing his next surprise in May will be fighting Khan in Europe or trying to steal a title at 160 from the weakest link. Then again he ducked Khan for his last two fights now so who knows. Outside of Pacquiao his biggest money maker would be against Khan or GGG.

Garcia (and Broner) seems to be going down the same protected path. Haymon will not only protect his cash cows but he won't even let them fight each other.

I can see him beat Thurman, Garcia, Broner, Porter easily.

The only way Money beats Canelo and Cotto in terms of pvv buys on may 5 is if he fights Pacman

Canelo fighting Kirkland and Cotto fighting Lee on December will rile up the crowd. I don't sr Money fighting Pacman though. I think its worst now that Shaeffer left, Oscar is gonna work with Arum and we know Golden boy and money don't like each other, and how money just got a license to promote.. i just don't see it happening

I honestly don't see Floyd beating Thurman and Porter easily. Not sure about Garcia, he is somewhat inconsistent. I do think he beats Broner but the only way it happens is if Broner starts to trash talk him and push for the fight. None of these fights will happen though because Haymon is their puppet-master and he tells them who they will fight. If you thought Arum and King were bad you haven't seen anything yet.

I think Mayweather would make a terrible promoter. Even worst than Arum. He would use the high rewawd low risk strategy with his boxers.

Well, so far his fighters haven't impressed me: Jleon Love and Jessie Vargas are mediocro IMO. Floyd will be similar to Jordan, great at the sport....just ok management/coaching wise.
