So I just want to say to anyone that might think that boxing is not popular based on what they see on the City Data forums compared to other sports. Boxing is overwhelmingly a minority/ inner city sport that has a far better following on platforms like YouTube or Instagram etc.
City Data is obviously overwhelmingly white/ suburban population and doesn't have the audience for boxing just FYI.
Tomorrow is important fight, Oleksandr Usyk against Murat Gassiev. Winner would be undisputed cruiserweight champ of the world. That fight is going to be good if u interrested guys

Please put this as a thumbnail.
The Micks used to make great boxers (Gene Tunney, Billy Conn). Then they became civilized and that changed. I still think the greatest fight was between Joe Louis and Billy Conn. That Irish kid gave the Brown Bomber a run for his money.
That white kid Jerry Quarry could really fight. And Jimmy Dunn tried to hang in there with Ali.
Good boxing is great.
Im a fan, and agree boxing discussions have little attention here. MMA seems more popular. Im surprised no wrestling forum though. Its really popular and there is more going on now then just Vince and WWE.
I find that MMA and boxing lack marketing. They don't really market the fights and introduce the fighters to the public.
Take UFC. This organization owns UFC and Glory Kickboxing. Yet Glory kickboxing is not really promoted.
A UFC event should have both MMA and kickboxing fights. Take last week's fight. It was a HORRIBLE card for a PPV. This way each event is stacked with good fights.
