I agree with Mark. Animal herds need to be thinned out. I don't see anyone willing to give them all birth control pills. They also provide food for mankind.

Now on the other hand I can understand those who hate the thought of killing an animal. As for myself I would never hunt unless I was really hungry. I hate the idea of animals suffering until they die, but I think that they go through a lot more suffering in these feed lots than being shot by a hunter. And to allow wild herds to multiple until they can't find food is also very cruel. I have seen animals dying of starvation just because someone felt that it was better, say, to dump a dog instead of taking it to the humane society.
