There used to be a little pond that me and my siblings would go fishing. Come to find out, there was an alligator that lived in the pond. I never saw it, but my brother did. It never bothered us.

Visited Louisiana 2x, and I've seen lots and lots of alligators.

Now, I live in a St. Louis suburb, and a few months ago, I saw a coyote walking down a suburb street in broad daylight. THAT was a surprise. lol
Guess you never went out to the space center as a kid, then. There was 1 in the pond right by the astronaut memorial all the time. Even saw it up sunning on the sidewalks back in the 80s when we were there sometimes. Still if you just look into the ditches and canals on the way to the Visitors Center you can still see many. we have even seen them in the water where we used to park on property with our passes for shuttle launches. Last time we were at Cracker Barrell in Titusville on way home from Sanford airport, there was an aligator swimming in the pond by the parking lot. Riht on cue for our visitors to see 1 in the wild.
We have coyotes here in Florida now too.

No...actually, I've been to the Space Center a few times, and I saw the signs warning about alligators...I just never saw them. Maybe I'm Miss Oblivious. LOL
