12:00 AM over the Rainbow bridge. Guy and family stop to change at a closed gas station and there is a robbery attempt. Fled to Tim Horton's.

What a shame you are not safe in any NYS city, or even suburb at night. No one seems to care. Amazing. They are even making it easier for criminals to commit a crime and not pay the consequences. It what world, is this a good thing?

I don’t know if I would go that far. Niagara Falls the city has had a rep in parts of town, just like most cities of a substantial size.

Yes, I agree with you. There are certain parts of town in all the NY cities that have a bad reputation. Problem is, crime is spreading, so while there are areas you definitely don't want to frequent, you really aren't safe any where. And that's a shame.

I still wouldn’t go that far. Nothing is promised to anyone, but I wouldn’t make things out to be some widespread issue in terms of not being able to go anywhere. Ironically, NY State appears to have a lower crime rate than most states in some aspects, like this: https://worldpopulationreview.com/st...-rate-by-state

NYS in the middle in this article, but recently crime in NYC has skyrocketed because of "reforms" in the criminal justice system. Lets see what this looks like next year.

Usually, NY is in the teens to mid 20's range in this regard. In this list, it is 13th when looking at property and violent crime: https://www.usnews.com/news/best-sta.../public-safety

Crime has gone up in cities across the country and the word is out if "reforms" strictly has anything to do with it. I say that due to other factors within departments play a part in this as well like funding for certain taskforces and staffing.

Yes, the "reforms" have been great for crime. No bail, and let people out of prison. I also wonder how much crime is not even documented or even pursued, as the criminals are just released and the local leadership stopped supporting the police. Murders have doubled in my city and no one seems to care.

Believe what you know, and not some corporate media outlet with an agenda.

Again, that doesn't mean that the increase is just from reforms, which still prosecutes violent offenses. There are other factors that aren't being discussed like the things I mentioned in my previous post, that have an impact on what is going on. This doesn't have anything to do with some mainstream media boogeyman, but perhaps some insight as to what are some other factors that play a part in this.

I also suggest watching this starting at around 27 minutes in: https://www.facebook.com/michael.bad...98148434824134 (I actually posted this in the Upstate African American thread a couple of weeks ago)

Again, when looking at the information, NY historically is in the teens to mid 20's in said rankings, depending upon the criteria.
